Precautions
- The ferries departing from Fugang Fishery Harbor run throughout the year, except during strong northeast monsoon they might be suspended.
- The ferries departing from Houbihu Kenting are affected by the northeast monsoon. They run only from mid-March to mid-October and are suspended in other months.
- Arrive at the harbor at least 40 minutes prior to departure and have the passports of all passengers with you when collecting the tickets at the counter. Boarding is open 30 minutes before departure. If you would like to pick a seat, please complete the check-in earlier.※ Reminder: You cannot board the ferry without your passport.
- If you purchase the tickets through an online travel agency, pay close attention to the deadline before which you can cancel the tickets for free.
- Passengers who are prone to seasickness can take motion sickness pills 30 minutes before boarding. They can be found in all pharmacies in Taiwan.
- The ferry schedule is subject to changes due to weather. You are recommended to check your mobile phone and e-mail before departure to see if you have received any notification or confirm with your online travel agency.

How to buy tickets
- •There are 3 to 4 ferries to Orchid Island every day. Passengers can book ferry tickets from online travel agencies two days before the planned departure date.
- •Every year from April to October is the tourist season on the island. During summer holidays (July and August), there will be tourist crowds and the ferries are often full. April and May are actually great time to visit when the temperature is more pleasant.
